Six of Swords
This week we are using THE GODDESS TAROT by Kris Waldherr, which is a deck with a very feminine feel to it. The feminine is more emotional and soulful than the Male side which is concerned about taking care of business on the exterior plane of existence. Both are very important factors in our lives and we all have and need both Yin (female) and Yang (male) energies to be in balance with ourselves and the World we live in. So Guys, don’t think you are being left out this week, as this card applies to you too!
In the Six of Swords we see a young Lady sitting in a boat with Six Swords behind her in the boat with her. You should take note of how she is looking rather sadly at the rough water to her right and the white water Lilies which symbolize innocence and purity. She seems to have bandages (at least that is how I see them) on her right arm symbolizing that she has been hurt… and this is on the same side as the rough water and white Lilies she is so sadly looking at. Notice also that she has a white Headband on, symbolizing her innocence and thoughts. On the Left side of the boat is calm clear blue (blue is the color of the mental plane and our thoughts)water (symbolizing our emotions) and smooth rolling hills (symbolizing an easier time and conditions on the physical plane). What does all this mean? Well, The bow of the boat is heading away from the rough choppy water of the emotions. She has been hurt physically, mentally or emotionally and it has taken away her pure innocent thoughts, feelings and thus, it has taken a toll on her physically too. So even though she is mourning what once started out as pure and innocent times, it has turned cold, rough and even physically damaging and she knows she must leave it all behind and head for smoother water on the distant shore. Even though she doesn’t know what awaits her there, she knows it will be better than what she is leaving behind. She isn’t expecting to forget what has happened in the past,.. she knows she will always remember the sweet times and even miss them, but she can’t forget the now damaging and hurtful times they have become (because she has taken those Swords with her in the boat. Thus symbolizing responsibility) , and she knows she must move on and away from the mental, and possibly physical but definitely emotionally painful circumstances. It is time to think about her responsibility for how she is creating her own life, her self-preservation and self-care. It is time to head out and do what is in her own best interest, even if she doesn’t really know how things will turn out. But she knows it has to be better than what she is leaving behind.
So if you are living or working in a condition that has mentally, physically and/or emotionally left you feeling beaten or wounded; then perhaps it’s time to leave it behind. To take responsibility for the life you are living and the conditions you are living with. And even though it may make you sad because it all started out so sweet, accept that it has now gone sour and pack your things and leave it behind. It may be sad, it may even be scary, but you know in your heart and mind that anything has got to be better than what you are experiencing now. Get in your boat (means of transportation, or a change in your perspective, no matter what that may be) and head to calmer waters and distant shores. Put some space between you and the conditions or people that have taken your happiness, joy or innocence. Time to move on. Or change your way of thinking. Take responsibility for creating the life you truly want to be living.
