Page of Swords
You are being asked to develop thoughts and ideas of your own rather than relying on the thoughts and ideas of others. This card deals with the beginnings of independent thinking, exploring our minds, ethics and position in the world. It is asking you to use your analytical mind to come up with your own ideas rather than accepting the ideas and thoughts of others. To get into your big kid pants and become an individual thinker and doer. The Page of Swords is asking us to delve into things we are curious about or that we have taken a firm stance or position on. The Page of Swords has an analytical mind…. wanting to know “Why”, “What’ or “How” things are the way they are or appear to be. This Page wants to get to the bottom of things and wants to know the ‘truth’… usually at any cost. They are a very useful person to have on your side, but if you cross them or are in opposition to their ideas… they will use any means necessary to win because they are NOT good losers! The Page of Swords tends to be a visionary with unique thoughts and ideas, sometimes for the very reason that they are unique and different. They have no use for logical or practical thoughts and find these tiresome and boring. They much prefer lofty thoughts because they are different, unique and interesting. The Page likes to keep their mind busy and entertained. They get an idea in their head and can hang onto it stubbornly, like a dog with a bone, analyzing it to death. The Page of Swords is a rather impersonal and detached individual who finds people intrusive of their thoughts and personal space . They like to have people around them, but on their terms (thinking or even saying, “if I wanted to talk to you I would have called you!”), and rarely gets close to any of them. They hate to feel pinned down and they don’t like commitment. When faced with a relationship, they get easily bored and will move on fairly quickly from what they feel has become mundane. They rarely get involved with big causes and don’t care to go along with or get involved with the masses or conventional ideals. They are mavericks… pioneers in life and of thoughts. Living by their own set of ethics which can be very different and unique, even shocking… breaking with traditional ways and thoughts. They are usually kind and thoughtful, but love to shake things up and do things to shock people, just to see their reaction. They have a sharp mind and rarely miss any details concerning a situation or person they choose to analyze. The Page of Swords can be a character trait of yourself, someone you know or will come across this week, or a young person already in your life. They can seem broodish, moody and seemingly loners that are always on the look-out for trouble or are causing trouble themselves… most likely to get the attention they crave (but they keep this fact a deeply hidden secret). At odds with others and their environment, they can sometimes seem sulky and solitary, or just constantly lost in their own thoughts. So, whether this is a person or situation you will encounter this week or a faucet of your own personality… you will find yourself dealing with or analyzing individualized and unique thoughts and be searching for the truth or YOUR own personal truth.
